Founded in 1997, ASK was headquartered in Sophia Antipolis, France, and had two commercial offices in Paris and Hong Kong. The company manufactured contactless smartcards for public transport operators. They also produced a contactless e-purse, followed by personal identification as well.
ASK's products included a dual interface combi card (that had both a contact base and contactless interface) and contactless paper-based ticket. The combi card was targeted at regular subscribers of the transport system, for use for example as frequent user card, stored value card or monthly subscription card. The contactless paper tickets were for occasional users like tourists.
ASK's core technology was the process of printing silver antennae on paper.
